Düğün - Wedding

Here again, yeniden, și din nou

Feels unreal, but here I am, for the second year in a row, in my happy space. Surrounded by artists, colours, moments of peace, lights, creativity and of course, people dear to me. Love exhibitions but nothing feels like one of your own. Well, not just yet, but soon (hopefully). However, the feeling of being part of an exhibition . . . close behind<3

(“yeniden” (Turkish), “din nou” (Romanian) both mean again)

Meaning of this all

A girl from Oltenia and a man from Adana once fell in love, weaving their "kilim" of life with fine threads of vibrant days. Romanian motifs embraced by the traditional tezhip border as a visualisation of how two cultures can harmoniously coexist (and eventually interexist) are the main focus of the canvas. Within it, a woman carrying a basket of pomegranates and a man a basket of wheat depict symbols of a prosperous life - together.

Some things about myself:

Of both Romanian and Turkish descent, and on a constant chase to intertwine symbols of both cultures, so deeply rooted within my soul. With some short courses participation here and there, my true inspiration comes from everyday moments, random objects scattered around the house and the captivating colours of nature. The love for art began as a passion, nurtured through years and years of searching for the "beautiful" and analysing the world's endless palette. There is beauty in everything, from the traditional carpet in our house, to my husband so patiently and lovingly spoiling our cats. And all these things, I strive to capture on pieces of paper, with the help of colours and a faithful brush.
